Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had numerous skills, such as being able to direct, act and produce plays, as well as write them teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, being the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for performances as a kid as well as watching her mother doing her job. While still a small child, she was featured in various commercials.
